Abstract submission deadline extended
The AFPS Conference Organising Committee invite you to submit an abstract for inclusion in the 2025 program.
Abstract submissions will now close on Thursday 31 July 2025 at 23:59pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
Notification of the outcome of the reviews and acceptances will be emailed on Tuesday 12 August 2025.
Instructions to authors and abstract formatting guidelines
Please ensure that you have reviewed all instructions below and prepare your abstract accordingly prior to submitting.
Abstracts are to be submitted via the abstract portal using the abstract submission template provided.
- Oral presentation
- Poster presentation – posters will be on display with authors in attendance at a specified day/time.
Abstracts are invited for submission in one of the following themes:
- Nanomedicine, genomic and personalised medicine
- Non-animal innovation and alternative testing methods
- Extracellular vesicles, lipid nanoparticles, viral vectors and advanced drug delivery systems
- Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) – global innovations and strategies to overcome AMR: a call to action!
- 3D printing in pharmaceutical sciences and biomedicine
- AI-driven pharmacy solutions
- Self-driving pharmaceutical laboratories
- Industry-pharmacy partnerships for innovation
- Digital medicine and therapies
- Age-appropriate paediatric formulations
- Cannabis-based medicines, psychedelics and alternative medicine integration
- Mechanopharmacology and mechanobiology
- Other
Abstracts are to be submitted via the abstract portal using the attached abstract submission template.
Please ensure you follow the instructions below and in the template:
- The total length is recommended to be 300 words (title, authors, affiliations, and references are not included in this word count). The abstract must fit in the template on one A4 page.
- Include the presentation title, author names, affiliations and references in the abstract submissions Word document as per template.
- Please underline the name of the author who will present the abstract.
- Abstract text should be entered in sentence case (do not type in CAPITAL LETTERS).
- Rename the file to ‘LASTNAME_ AFPS2025’ and save as a Word document to upload. DO NOT save as a PDF file.
Please note, presentation title, author names and affiliations will also need to be typed directly into the text boxes within the online submission portal as well as included in the submission template.
During the submission process, you will be asked to upload a colour headshot photo (jpg file) and brief biography paragraph (up to 150 words) in third person. This will be included in the online program.
Only abstracts submitted via the abstract submission portal will be considered for the 2025 program. The submission portal is now open and closes on Thursday 31 July 2025 at 23:59pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
Once an abstract has been submitted, an acknowledgement email will be sent to the submitting author. If this email is not received, please first check the spam folder, then contact the conference organiser via email apfs2025@expertevents.com.au
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by at least three reviewers.
The Program Committee will assign accepted abstracts either to oral or poster presentation, and the reviewers’ decision is final.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept or decline any submissions and to select the presentation format.
Submitting authors will be notified of their acceptance status on Tuesday 12 August 2025, and must inform any co-author(s).
Presenting authors (maximum of two) of all accepted abstracts must register and pay the applicable registration fee by Thursday 4 September 2025. If registration isn’t completed by this date, the Organising Committee reserve the right to remove the presentation from the program.

For all accepted abstracts, further details regarding the oral presentation (PowerPoint presentation) and poster presentation (poster size, format etc) will be emailed to the contact person.
Please note accepted abstracts will be made available on the conference website as open access.
