About AFPS

The Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (AFPS) was founded in 2007 to provide a dynamic network for the exchange of scientific information among Asian pharmaceutical scientists.

The Federation achieves its objectives through several key initiatives. Central to its mission is the organisation of the Asian Congress of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a prestigious gathering hosted in different Asian countries that facilitates scientific exchange and collaboration. AFPS also coordinates specialised meetings on multidisciplinary aspects of drug research and encourages joint meetings between member societies. The Federation’s commitment to scientific communication extends to the publication of the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the maintenance of a comprehensive calendar of member activities and events.

Education and professional development are cornerstones of AFPS’s mission. The Federation actively promotes high standards in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate pharmaceutical education, while facilitating the exchange of scientific information and supporting staff and student mobility between Asian institutions. Through these efforts, AFPS plays a crucial role in shaping public policies relevant to pharmaceutical sciences and drug-related issues at the Asian level, contributing to the advancement of the field across the region.
