The 2025 AFPS Conference will feature an exceptional lineup of speakers at the forefront of pharmaceutical sciences. Prof Clara Chow
Prof Clara Chow
Professor Clara Chow is Academic Director of the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC), Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. She is a cardiologist and Clinical Lead of Community Based Cardiac Services at Westmead hospital and is also a member of the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Governing Board, Sydney, Australia. Professor Chow is Director of the Australian Stroke and Heart Accelerator (ASHRA). Her recent award highlights include being a finalist for the NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year - Woman of Excellence Category - in 2024 and 2020 respectively, receiving a Research Australia Digital Health Technology – Highly Commended Award, becoming an Honour of Australia recipient as well as a Fellow of the AAHMS in 2023 and being honoured with a Telstra Health - Brilliant Woman in Digital Health Award in 2022.

Prof Catherine Tuleu is Professor of Paediatric Pharmaceutics at the University College London School of Pharmacy, UK. Her translational research (h-index 40) focuses on developing innovative age-appropriate medicines for babies and children, pioneering sensory pharmaceutics towards better medicine acceptability. Prof Tuleu is the founder and chairperson of the European Paediatric Formulation Initiative (EuPFI), advancing drug product research and development for children.

Prof Asha Bowen is a senior Clinician-Scientist in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, working across Perth Children's Hospital and The Kids Research Institute. She is the lead investigator of SToP Trial and global Paediatric lead of the SNAP Trial. Her research focuses on translation of results into clinical practice ranging from bush to bench to bedside and beyond.

Prof Ben Boyd is an ARC Industry Laureate Research Fellow and Professor of Drug Delivery Sciences at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Melbourne, Australia. His research is focussed at the intersection of colloid and interface science with drug delivery sciences, with strong interest in the behaviour of lipid and other colloidal materials in physiological environments and developing methods to study these systems. He has had an interest in the development of novel paediatric formulations for both oral and long-acting parenteral applications.
